Home Tour: Den

And so begins the tour of my new apartment.  I don’t want to rush the details…window treatments, new furniture, new decor, etc.  I want to live in the space for a bit so that I know what I want.  But at the same time, I’m excited to show you pictures of my new home, so I’m going to share a “partially unfinished project.”  🙂  Enjoy!

The den, like the whole apartment at this point, is a work in progress.  I have my eyes on a chair and ottoman for the corner that just has a floor lamp right now, to make a little reading corner.  I’m also thinking about what to do, if anything, for a window treatment.

I love this space.  When I began looking at apartments, I decided I wanted to have a den or extra bedroom for guests.  I don’t necessarily want a “guest room” that always has a bed made up, but a space where I can make up an air mattress for my guests, and where they can shut the door and have privacy if they want.  (And I chose an apartment where the doors to the den have windows.  The irony.)  For myself, I love having this nook for my bookshelves and my piano.  It also keeps the “office stuff”–printer, files, etc., out of the living room.
