DPP 2011 — Kid Art

December 9:  I suppose I can’t really call this “kid art,” since I don’t teach art, and am not really supposed to do things like this.  Also, it was all my idea, and it was a lesson on following directions, fine motor skills, and how to SHUT YOUR GLUE BOTTLE before you leave the classroom, for heaven’s sake!  🙂  But I just love watching kids go nuts with glue and shiny, sparkly things.  And it’s Christmas!  The least I can do is spread some cheer in my classroom, in the form of glue and sequins!

This reminds me of a second grade teacher I had. Mrs Braden was always using art to teach other things. And we loved it!!!! Who says you can’t use music and art to teach the rest of the curriculum? must have been Scrooge.
